Education Based Housing

  • Tutoring: teaching adult literacy to residents who may not be prepared to take GED courses. Also tutor youth students at select properties under the guidance of resident engagement specialists.
  • Timeframe: August - December & January - May from 3- 5pm
  • Virtual/ in- person facilitation: Safely share your expertise with our residents through our online facilitation opportunities or socially distanced events. Some examples include facilitating Arts and Crafts, instructing Exercise Classes, or implementing Financial Counseling.
  • Timeframe: Afternoons and evenings
  • Community outreach: Engage the community! Spend time with seniors and children during our socially distanced events.
  • Timeframe: Flexible
  • Major Events: Assist in setting up an event, serving residents, keeping areas sanitized, and maintaining the flow throughout different stations such as food, karaoke, games, etc.
  • Timeframe: Flexible
  • Mentorship Program: A small group of volunteers can meet with children to discuss a range of topics such as self- esteem, self-worth, self-confidence, goal setting, etc., under the Resident Engagement Specialist's guidance.
  • Timeframe: Year-round from 3-5 pm
