Health & Safety While On Campus

Face coverings and/or masks are no longer required at UHD per Governor Abbott’s Executive Order #36ÔÇï.   For those who prefer to wear face coverings and/or masks, they may certainly continue to do so. UHD encourages unvaccinated people to wear face coverings.  We also strongly encourage our students, faculty, and staff to get vaccinated. For more info, visit uhd.edu/coronavirus.

CLC Connection

One of the main goals of the Accelerated Transfer Academy is to ensure that our transfer students have all the tools they need to identify a career post-graduation and begin to form networks that will help to advance them within that chosen career. Career Learning Communities (CLCs) bring together ATA students with faculty, alumni, and career professionals that provide guidance and insights around similar career interests.

Our CLC Connections are informal classroom-based discussions focused on homing in on building career competencies by connecting students to industry professionals. We invite our guest speakers to share their career and educational journeys, a typical workday, the education requirements, the soft skills need to be successful in their career endeavors. This is an opportunity for transfer students to engage with someone whose career choice interests them and to explore avenues they may not have considered before.

ATA has several CLC events scheduled and more are coming soon. You can register for these events through CampusGroups and explore other career-related events hosted by various UHD groups/departments.

CLC Requirements for current ATA students:

Spring 2021 Cohort -
Attend at least oneCLC event. Attending more than one event during the semester and submitting a reflection will qualify you to apply for the CLC scholarship.

Fall 2021 Cohort - Attend at least two CLC events.
Attending more than two events during the semester and submitting a reflection will qualify you to apply for the CLC scholarship.

Goal setting is a helpful way to build the career you want. By setting objectives and creating a clear roadmap for how you’ll reach your intended target, you can decide how to apply your time and resources to make progress. Without goals, it can be difficult to determine how to get a certain job, promotion or other milestones you want to achieve.

When you set an objective for yourself, you should include each step necessary for success. To help, you can use a framework called SMART goals. READ MORE about setting your goals.
