Take on the GO-ZERO Challenge: Volunteer for Earth Day Houston

Earth Day 2024 is Saturday, April 20, and Discovery Green presents a big event and an even bigger challenge: GO ZERO for a waste-free event with zero trash. The event is from noon to 5 p.m., and volunteers will serve as Recycling Ambassadors in two-hour shifts.

Three reasons to volunteer:

  1. To participate in a massive community event at Discovery Green for Earth Day.
  2. To show your love for UHD and its Center for Urban Agriculture and Sustainability.
  3. To be a part of the solution for sustainability issues facing our urban environment.

It’s easy to sign up and show your Gator pride, and if you have questions, please email cuas@uhd.edu. Our goal is 100 UHD volunteers, sporting complimentary 50th UHD Anniversary/Earth Day Houston t-shirts in recognition of our close relationship with the city of Houston over five decades.

Women's History Month Display

We hope you didn't miss the Women's History Month display on the third floor. Deborah Mercado, a UHD Northwest student, gathered information on historical figures in women's history to highlight their accomplishments.
