We are excited to present our CLC Connection events for Spring 2023! Join us for an engaging session with UHD Alumni & ATA Scholars for an opportunity to explore these careers and get some valuable tips that will help you on your career journey. Click on each image to RSVP.
Join a diverse group of STEM professionals and learn about their career journeys, ask questions about your own foray into STEM, and participate in break-out sessions designed to help you create a clear path to your STEM goal. Lunch will be provided!
This year’s event will be held Friday, March 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Fondren Commons area in the College of Sciences & Technology Building.
Sponsored by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI)-funded UHD SynergIE Program, the Diversity in STEM event brings in guests from around the Houston area to connect STEM students and professionals.
UHD S.T.A.R Lab hosts: Living in the Sandwich Generation, presented by Amazing Place
Guest speaker Mehrnaz Gill will discuss what it is like caring for children and aging parents. She will discuss coping with feeling overwhelmed, ways to overcome challenges as a caretaker, helpful strategies, and available resources for caregivers.

Spring 2023 Health Fair
Come and join us at the bi-annual Health Fair with 40+ vendors and free groceries!
Volunteers Are Also Needed With over 30,000 pounds of produce to move to our university community, the help is greatly needed. We will distribute certificates for serving and Ice cream to those who volunteer.
Center for Public Deliberation hosts Public Deliberation: Youth and Opportunity
We invite you to join us at the Public Deliberation: Youth and Opportunity event co-hosted by the UHD Center for Public Deliberation and Empowered Youth. This will be an open discussion with elected officials, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members.
Public deliberation is a great way to share your perspective and learn from others! In small group discussions, we will consider together this issue guide about what we should do for future generations to thrive.

Art Car IPA 5K Volunteers Needed
UHD and Saint Arnold Brewing Company are teaming up to present the Art Car IPA 5K on Sunday, April 2, 2023, celebrating Houston's colorful Art Car legacy and the race's namesake beverage.
Race volunteers are needed for various dates, times, and duties.
Volunteers get free beer, a party pass, and event swag (Age 21 or older). UHD Students are eligible for volunteer credits. Stop by the UHD tent at the event for a volunteer receipt and free swag.
Experience the history, culture, beauty, and splendor of West Africa! Students will have the unique opportunity to further study, explore, and engage in this discourse in Ghanaian contexts including Accra, Kumasi, Legon, and Cape Costa Ghana. Ghana’s rich, multifaceted history and modern cultural contributions both within and outside of its borders make it an ideal landscape to explore pan-African identity and its evolution.
