UHD SUSTAIN Scholarship Opportunity

Are you interested in Sustainability and a year-long paid program that helps you get education, skills and an internship that combines your degree and sustainability?

We have a couple of spots left in our UHD SUSTAIN program for qualified undergraduates of any major. A fall stipend of $500 will be paid out this summer, a spring stipend of $500, and a summer stipend of $2000 during a half-summer internship.

The program requires you to take a course in the second half of the summer and fall and there are Friday morning meetings throughout the year.

Summer Volunteer Opportunities at the Center for Urban Agriculture Sustainability (CUAS)

Garden
Once a week, every Wednesday morning 8am-11am learn about the vegetables we're growing this summer and help maintain our beautiful campus and nearby community gardens.

Recycling
Once a week, every Tuesday afternoon 2pm - 3:30pm learn what the City of Houston recycles and help sort campus recycled material at CST in order for it to be processed.

Gator Groups Are Back!

Counseling Services is bringing back Gator support groups starting Tuesday, June 27th. Are you interested in joining a virtual safe space with a group of supportive peers? Gator Groups are:

     - Providing weekly group counseling
     - Free to all currently enrolled UHD students
     - Virtually hosted through Zoom
     - CONFIDENTIAL

We have a variety of topics in the works, including navigating healthy relationships, First Generation student support, belonging and acclimating to college life, LGBTQ+ and allies, meditation/relaxation, and parenting support. Have any suggestions for a Gator Group you'd like to see? Fill out our survey and include it in the comment section!

Engaged Voters' Internship

Engaged Voters is in search for 6 amazing college-student interns from July-November 2023 to support their organizational initiatives. The application is now open and will close on June 23rd at 6pm CST. They will continue reviewing applications until the positions are filled. All accepted interns will begin onboarding and orientation on July 3rd.

Requirements:
• Must be a college student living in Houston, Texas
