Gator Emergency Fund

UHD has announced the Gator Emergency Fund for students impacted by COVID-19. Intended as short-term relief, the Gator Emergency Fund will assist students to pay for emergency housing, unpaid utilities, medical expenses, food or other expenses that would otherwise force them to drop out of the University of Houston-Downtown.

City of Houston Food Access Resources

The City of Houston has put together lists of food resources for seniors, families, children, and people with disabilities. The information includes store special hours and operations for seniors, and free meal pickup and delivery services. Click link or image for list of resources.

To get assistance with applying for SNAP, people can contact the Houston Food Bank’s Community Assistance Program at 832-369-9390.

For meal delivery, seniors can contact Harris County Precinct 2’s meal program at 713-274-2222 (https://www.hcp2.com/programs/precinct-2-meal-program).

ATA Scholarship
Scholarship submissions and re-submissions are due in by Friday, May 1st. These scholarships include:

• Academic Success Coaching Scholarship
• Career and Beyond Scholarship
• Student Engagement Scholarship
• Community Engagement Scholarship

Grading Option for Spring 2020 Semester

New grading option will provide students with the option of selecting a grade of Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory instead of a traditional letter grade (A - F).

• S: Satisfactory = C or above, no effect on GPA, hours count toward graduation.
• U: Unsatisfactory = D or F, no effect on GPA, hours do not count toward graduation. Some degree programs may count a D as acceptable for the purpose of degree completion or graduation.

Students should consult with success coaches to determine if either of these options will benefit you in your acadmic success.
