About Us

The Community Scholars Program (CPS) is a comprehensive program under the Center for Community Engagement & Service Learning (CCESL) to promote student success inside and outside the classroom.

Students in this program will benefit from advising, mentoring, tutoring, and career services. Students will have opportunities to participate in service activities at the university and the local, regional, and international communities, attend seminars, and go on field and/or service trips. Students may also conduct projects and present at conferences.

We also have a dedicated student lounge on the 4th floor in the One Main Building to provide members a space to study, collaborate, network, or simply relax between classes.

There is no cost to join. You may simply begin by joining a meeting. Email ccesl@uhd.edu with questions.

"Wow. I was so lucky to be a part of this program. I couldn't help but share about it with my classmates. What a rewarding first semester at UHD! I really don't know what you could improve, and I have no doubt the leaders of this program have the knowledge, intuition, and wisdom to continue impacting students just like me."
