Judge Sonya Heath is the Administrative Judge of the Harris County Board of Family District Judges. She is also the presiding judge for the 310th Family District Court (taking the bench, January 1, 2019). An alum of University of Houston - Downtown and graduate of TSU’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Judge Heath was formerly a solo practitioner at The Law Office of Sonya Heath, focusing exclusively on family law matters. With almost 40 years in the legal industry, her particular emphasis has been on family, labor and employment, criminal and appellate law.

Judge Fransheneka “Fran” Watson is an accomplished lawyer with more than a decade of experience in Probate and Guardianship. Judge Watson was appointed by the Mayor of Houston to serve as Municipal Court Judge in 2019 and reappointed in 2021. In 2023 she became Staff Attorney for Probate Court 2.

Judge Watson graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston Downtown in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She received her law degree, with honors, from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2009.

Julia Maldonado, originally from Nuevo León, Mexico, is a Board Certified Family Law Attorney through the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (2012). She earned her BBA in Accounting from the University of Houston–Downtown and her J.D. from Thurgood Marshall School of Law. She founded J. Maldonado Law Firm, P.C., and combines her legal and accounting expertise. From 2017 to 2024, she served as the Presiding Judge of the 507th Family District Court in Harris County—a historic tenure as the first Hispanic female Democrat elected to that bench.
