Alpha Psi Lambda was established on February 11, 1985 at The Ohio State University and has grown to 41 Chapters and 8 Affiliate Chapters in 18 states with over 3,900 members. We believe in the concept of Familia to create a support network for our members while creating the real world experience of working with all genders.

The purpose of the UHD ACI Student Chapter is to promote knowledge and professional
development in concrete materials, structural design, and construction practices.
The chapter seeks to:
1. Encourage student involvement in concrete engineering and construction.
2. Provide opportunities for students to participate in ACI competitions, research, and
professional development activities.
3. Facilitate interaction between students, faculty, and industry professionals.
4. Represent the University of Houston-Downtown in regional and national ACI
activities and conventions.
5. Support collaboration with the ACI Houston Chapter and the American Concrete
Institute.
