Student Veteran Organization

The Student Veterans Organization (SVO) serves as a community-based organization for the military community and their supporters at the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD), whether they are students, faculty, or staff. It is dedicated to continued service in the community, helping with the transitional process of veterans, dependents and provide leadership among the student population.

We strive to create and inclusive environment that honors the unique experiences of veterans, providing resources and opportunities to ensure their success in higher education and beyond. Our mission is to foster leadership, advocate for veteran-specific needs, and promote camaraderie among all members, as we transition from military service to civilian life with resilience and purpose.
