Every UHD student can shop for up to 40 pounds of FREE groceries EVERY single week at our on campus Food Market!

About Us

The UHD Food Market is designed to give students who are currently enrolled at the University of Houston-Downtown the opportunity to shop for fresh produce, meats, and many other type of groceries for no exchange whatsoever. As part of our Food for Change Program UHD students have the ability to shop for up to 40 pounds of FREE food in our very own food market! Our mission is to allow students to save money on food and groceries in order to save for other necessities and maintain a greater focus in school.

Register

If you are a registered UHD student, you will need to open your student email address and search for "free food". You will need to follow the instructions inside this email to register!

Visit Us

After you've registered you can visit the Food Market! When you enter you're free to shop around for whatever you want! After that you will need to sign in with your first & last name, student ID number, and date of birth.

Take Your Groceries Home!

Before you leave you'll need to weigh your food. One of our student workers will help you place everything in bags and you will have the option to check out a cart to help bring your groceries to your car.
