First-Gen Gator Peer Mentoring

The First-Gen Gator Peer Mentoring Program at UHD is designed to support first year, first generation college students in their transition to university life. Through one on one guidance from peer mentors, participants receive personalize academic and social support to help them navigate college challenges and maximize their success.

Who Qualifies for the Program?

  • First year students (less than 30 hours)
  • Full-time Enrollment (Fall/Spring)
  • First in their family to attend college

Are There Program Requirements?

For a full list of requirements and details, please contact the GRC additional program details. Mostly important:

  • Meet with GRC staff before being paired with a FGG Mentor
  • Actively communicate and engage with my FGG Mentor at least monthly
  • Actively participate in First-Gen Gators gatherings and social events and activities
  • Be open to meeting new people and trying new things
