Staff Awards

Each year UHD's Staff Council hosts a Staff Awards program to recognize the hard work, dedication and accomplishments of UHD's staff during that academic year.

Awards

The Staff Council provides UHD staff opportunity, on an annual basis, the opportunity to nominate their peers for special recognition. This recognition comes in the form of Staff Excellence Awards and Staff Council Impact Awards presented at an annual Staff Awards Program.

Staff Excellence Awards

Recipients of the Staff Excellence Awards consistently demonstrate continued productivity in excess of their normal job description; show initiative that results in a benefit to UHD; display a positive attitude that affects fellow coworkers and the general public; exemplify dependability, responsibility and stability; and have performed at least three years of service with UHD in a full-time position.

Staff Impact Awards

Recipients of Staff Impact Awards exemplify the best qualities in UHD staff and are nominated by their coworkers and supervisees in the categories of: Rookie of the Year, Whistle While You Work, Goes the Extra Mile, Best Boss, and Rising Star.

Nomination Process & Eligibility

Please help us honor fellow staff members for their dedication and service to UHD. By nominating someone for one of the awards, you are giving them special recognition for their hard work. You may either nominate an individual for an award or write a letter in support of a nomination package being prepared by someone else.

Staff Excellence Awards

Prepare a package, which includes a nomination form and at least two additional statements of support for your nominee. Please send the sealed nomination packages by campus mail to Employment Services and Operations S910.

Staff Council Impact Awards

Prepare a nomination form, print it, and then hand sign it. No digital signatures will be accepted. Please send the sealed nomination form by campus mail to Employment Services and Operations (910-S).

Eligibility

Current members of the Staff Council Executive Committee are not eligible. UHD administration is not eligible.

Nomination Forms

All nominations can be downloaded from CampusGroups or on the UHD website.

Selection Process

The Awards Review Board (ARB), which is appointed by the Staff Council President, selects the winners from the eligible nominees. The ARB is comprised of former award winners, an ESO representative, members of Staff Council, and professional staff members.
