    Sports and Fitness encourages students who have an avid interest in either sports or fitness to apply for our open positions. Due to a high demand for our student positions, we encourage students to complete our employment interest form.

    If selected, complete interview

    Interviews for fall semester normally take place in July, interviews for spring semester employment normally take place in November and interviews for summer semester employment take place in May. Times and dates may be adjusted due to schedule & availability.

    Student Supervisors

    The Student Supervisor is responsible for supporting the structure, direction, services, and programs of Sports & Fitness. Specifically, this includes supervising activities within the building when full-time staff are not present, monitoring activities throughout the building, assisting with marketing efforts, assisting with facilitating Sports & Fitness activities, and office assignments.

    Member Services/Front Desk Attendant

    The Sports & Fitness Member Services/Front Desk Attendant is responsible for supporting the structure, direction, services, and programs of the Wellness & Success Center. Specifically, this includes monitoring access to the building, providing point of sale support to members, answering the phone, equipment check out, and providing facility information to Members.

    Fitness Center Attendant (Strength and Cardio Zone)

    The Fitness Attendant is responsible for supporting the structure, direction, services, and programs of the Wellness & Success Center. Specifically, this includes monitoring the activities on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floor Fitness Center areas, and monitoring activities in the gymnasium, bouldering wall, fitness studios, and running track.

    Sports Supervisor

    The Sports Supervisor is responsible for supporting the structure, direction, services, and programs of Sports & Fitness. Specifically, this includes assisting with the coordination/facilitation of all sports activities, marketing efforts, data entry/compilation, and office assignments about the sports programs.

    eSports Student Assistant

    The eSports Student Assistant is one of several important roles within the program. They are responsible for managing the eSports facilities and supporting the UHD eSports teams. Additionally, they represent the program both within the game and in the community, showcasing their dedication, determination, and school spirit.

    Office Assistant

    The Office Assistant is responsible for supporting the administrative and business functions of Sports & Fitness in all areas (facilities, fitness, and sports). This includes student staff training, data entry/compilation, generating reports, and file maintenance/retention

    Sports & Fitness Intern

    Sports & Fitness Interns are responsible for supporting the structure, direction, services, and programs of Sports & Fitness. Sports & Fitness offers eSports, Fitness, and Sports Internships. Students interested in applying for an internship should complete an application.

    • Interns will earn 160-320 hours over a 15-week semester, which can be applied toward fulfilling an academic requirement.
    • To qualify as an intern, applicants must:
    • Maintain good academic standing.
    • Be enrolled in a higher education curriculum that focuses on health, wellness, or sports studies.
    • Show a genuine interest in health, wellness, or sports programming.
    • Be professional and enthusiastic about collaborating with others.
    • Be available during operating hours (Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM; note that sports intern hours may vary).
    • Possess proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
